Divinity 2: Ego Draconis

Be back soon!

Sorry I haven't been on or posting for a while, I've been in the hospital for a while dealing with some illnesses and surgeries. Hope to be posting soon though (lots of things to catch up on), things are looking great with the game!

New Divinity 2: Ego Draconis fansite: The Locus Inn

Divinity 2: Ego Draconis fansites galore! Myrthos has updated his fansite to include Divinity 2: Ego Draconis. For everything Divinity and Divinity 2, head over to the Locus Inn. And check out these fansites for even more goodies.

If you've got a craving for making your own fansite, you can still download the Divinity 2: Ego Draconis fansite kit.
If you have a fansite and you want it announced, please send an email to fansites@larian.com

I really recommend that everybody makes a fansite! You don't have to be great with coding or have the money to have an actual domain name and all that, look at mine!, but it really is a great way to help give back to the developers who put so much of their time into creating such great games for us. It doesn't take more than a few hours a week to update, and while that may be hard (if you're submitting university applications and in the hospital >.<) usually it's not too hard. Sorry I haven't updated mine, but I'll be updating it more frequently from now on. Thanks for supporting both my site and Larian by visiting my site. Viva la DD2!

Divinity 2 Preview at 9Lives

Belgian game site 9Lives is up with a preview of our up-coming next-gen RPG Divinity 2: Ego Draconis.
Here's their conclusion:

New Divinity 2 coverage in Germany

For our German fans - the cover of the latest issue of PC Games is dedicated to Divinity 2: Ego Draconis and in the magazine you'll find 6 pages of Divinity 2 news including several new screenshots. The journalist writes about a 3 hour walkthrough through the game and talks about what his impressions of the game were. He concludes by saying

"Was uns Larian Studios vor Ort gezeigt hat, war interessant, abwechslungsreich und lief verblüffend stabil under ruckelfrei. Zwar gibt es noch kleinere Punkte an denen es hapert, aber wenn sich die Belgier wirklich die kommenden sechs Monate mit Balancing und Optimierung beschäftigen, dürfte nichts schiefgehen."

If you can't find PC Games, the latest issue of PC Action also contains a 3 page story on Divinity 2.

Divinity 2: Ego Draconis: Most promising RPG at RpgWatch!!!

Divinity 2: Ego Draconis captures the Editor's Choice for Game of the Year Award 2008 at RpgWatch, this is a must have in 2009.
Read it all here.

Divine Divinity is a unique game, combining the addictive traits of a hack'slash action/RPG with the open world, interaction and quests of Ultima along with a sense of humour and quirky style – if you've read our recent retrospective, you'll know how much we enjoyed Divine Divinity. Divinity 2 looks to expand on this base with more choices, more consequences and some risky features – if they can integrate mind-reading and flying around as a dragon into the game beyond mere gimmickery, the potential is fascinating.

Divinity 2: Ego Draconis

Journalists attending this year’s Leipzig Games Convention had the very first chance to see a new feature of the upcoming RPG highlight being unveiled: the ability of the player character to transform into a Dragon.

In , players begin their adventure as apprentice Dragon Slayers who, after a bizarre twist of fate, will be able to shape-shift into a Dragon, so becoming mighty Dragon Knights, the very creatures they were supposed to chase. This puts them at odds with their former brothers in arms and indeed most of the population of Rivellon.

For this is where the tale takes place: Rivellon, the beautiful but war torn world first explored in Larian Studios’ award winning RPG .

Much has happened there since, but the death of the Divine – hero of the previous game – is undoubtedly the greatest tragedy. He was slain by a Dragon Knight during a battle with Damian, Rivellon’s arch nemesis. The Divine’s paladins swore revenge and so the order of the Dragon Slayers came to be.

begins years later, near the village of Broken Valley where a Dragon has been sighted and players are ordered to start the hunt. But the battle plan goes awry and soon they will find themselves infused with the power of Dragons.

Not only does this event enable them to take the Dragon form at will and unleash a variety of unique powers, it also sets them on an unexpected quest that will unveil hidden truths, reveal old evils and shall have grave implications for the whole of Rivellon.

, developed by Larian Studios and published by dtp entertainment, will be released in Q2 2009 for PC and Xbox 360®.

Divinity 2 offers next gen, story based RPG entertainment.

Divinity 2: Ego Draconis interview at GameBanshee

Tuesday 2 September 2008

GameBanshee did an interview with Lar about Divinity 2: Ego Draconis.

GB: What changes have you made to the dialogue system as opposed to what we saw in DD and BD? Will any of our skills or statistics influence which dialogue choices we're presented with?

Swen: Dialogs are presented in a cinematic way with all the graphical fluff you’d expect. The coolest thing I think is that we’ve added the option of mindreading in each dialog. This adds a unique twist to a lot of quests but you have to be willing to invest in it, and there are also negatives.
